Facebook launches Messenger Rooms Video Calling Platform to take platforms like Zoom and Google Meet. But now we hear that social media giant Messenger Rooms is planning to launch WhatsApp on the web. The widely used video calling platform Zoom can prove to be a big threat. A report earlier reported that WhatsApp is working on adding a Messenger Room option on the chat sheet.

According to WABetainfo, the Android beta update showed signs of integrating Messenger Rooms into WhatsApp, but the Messenger app works to add a Messenger Rooms shortcut in the 2.2019.6 web update.

In the WAbetainfo shared screenshot, you can easily find the Messenger Rooms icon on the chat share sheet next to the Contacts option. If you click on the Messenger Rooms icon on the screen, WhatsApp will prompt you to go to Messenger to create a room. Once the room is created in Messenger, the user can send a link to other users to connect.

Messenger Rooms is Facebook's video calling platform, which allows users to host group video calls for up to 50 participants. If you do not have a Facebook account, you can join Messenger Rooms by clicking on the link provided by the host.

In view of the proliferation of video calling platforms due to the coronavirus, many tech giants have come up with their own video calling platforms. Google has now made Premium Meet available to all users with Gmail numbers and has added many new features to Google Duo. Despite the security flaws, Zoom is at the top of this list and now there are better alternatives to the app.

For example, Facebook's Messenger room is easy to use and the user does not need a Facebook account. It allows up to 50 partners to join a single call and you don't even have to pay to get the feature.

Earlier, the WhatsApp Group increased the video call limit from four to eight, making it easy for its users to socialize during the lockdown. This feature is now officially available to iOS and Android users. To get the new feature, users have to update their app to the latest version of WhatsApp available in Playstore and AppStore.
